Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr George Chaponda has arrived in Mwaza at Joyce Chitsulo stadium where there will official opening of the place as a venue where victims of xenophobic attacks in South Africa will be hosted.
Initially the repatriated Malawians we taken to Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre where they were dropped in but now those people coming back from South Africa will be dropped in Mwanza district at Joyce Chitsulo stadium.
Among other notable figures at the function are Wilson Moleni Commissioner of Disaster and Risk Management, Members of Parliament Felix Njawala and Maurice Nseula Chirwa, Chiefs and others.
As 30th June approaches many Malawians in South Africa are seeking help from government to be repatriated home as they are on risk due to increase attacks on foreigners there.
