
World Vision International has been commended for donating two Mobile Clinic Vans valued at K500 Million to Ministry of Health and Sanitation to improve health service in hard-to-reach areas.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Balaka Principal Secretary for Administration in the Ministry Benson Chisamile said the Vans will reduce distances beneficiaries travel to access services, particularly for sexually transmitted infection and Tuberculosis.
Chisamile has called on civil society and non-governmental organisations to partner with government to strengthen health service delivery in the country.
The donation will particularly help the project led by National Aids Commission called Adolescent Girls and Young Women project that enhance HIV prevention and testing.
Executive Director of National AIDS Commission Dr. Beatrice Matanja said they will ensure that the Vans are effectively utilised to serve communities.
The project is being implemented by DAPP and GENET in Balaka, Chikwawa, Mulanje and Thyolo districts.
