Vice President Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah, SC, JA (Retired), is expected to attend the Zambezi Evangelical Church (ZEC) Chiole Synod National Women’s Conference 2026 as Guest of Honour on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The conference, organised by the Synod Women’s Guild Department, is being held under the theme “Women of Faith, Arise and Shine,” drawn from Isaiah 60:1.
The event will take place at the Manjawira ZEC Ground in Ntcheu District, where more than 2,500 women, pastors and church leaders are expected to gather.
The conference is expected to bring together women from across the synod for worship, fellowship and spiritual empowerment, while encouraging them to rise and shine in their faith and communities.
Meanwhile, the Vice President’s attendance at the church gathering comes amid reports of growing tension within the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), following warnings by the party’s Secretary General, Peter Mukhito, against party supporters attending functions associated with Ansah without prior approval from the party.
The reported directive sparked criticism and debate over the relationship between political loyalty, freedom of association and religious gatherings.
The latest church engagement is therefore likely to attract further attention, particularly as Ansah continues to maintain a visible presence at religious and community gatherings across the country.
