The CCAP Synod of Livingstonia has re-elected Rev. Dr William Tembo as its General Secretary, as Rev. Witken Gama has been elected as deputy General Secretary of the Synod.
Reverend Dr. Tembo retained position at the Synod’s Elective General Assembly at Kamuzu Academy in Kasungu and is expected to serve at the position for the next four years.
In the election Rev. Dr. William Tembo got 306 votes followed by Rev. Isaiah Vyiyapu Mhone with 142 votes and Rev. J. J Gondwe got 46 votes.
On position of deputy General Secretary Rev. Witken Gama has been elected taking over from Rev. Isaiah Mhone who served on the position for the past four years.
Rev. Gama took the position after getting 242 votes, compared to 111 votes of Rev. Isaiah Vyiyapu Mhone and 91 votes of Rev. Jailos Kamisa.
Reverend Witken Gama said his office is open and that he will serve without favouritism towards any person or tribe.
