Ministry of Health and sanitation will today enrol third round of polio vaccination campaign targeting all children below who are 10 years regardless of whether they received the vaccine in the previous campaigns.
In a press release signed by Dr Dan Namalika secretary for health and sanitation shows that the exercise will be done from today 16th June 2026 to Friday 19th June 2026 and vaccination is to be provided through door to door visit by trained health workers as well as government and CHAM health facilities.
The exercise comes after the detection of polio cases in a child from Makhetha in Blantyre district and oral polio vaccine will help to stop further transmission of the virus and strengthen county’s response.
Then, the Ministry has urged parents, guardians, religious leaders, communities, and all stakeholders to support the exercise and ensure that every eligible child has received the vaccine.
