
Polio Vaccination campaign conducted from 16 June to 19 June 2026 have surpassed it targeted number of children below 10 years old.
The Ministry of Health and Sanitation says the polio vaccination campaign for children under 10 years which was conducted from 16 to 19 June has been successful.
According to the released figures the Ministry had a target of reaching 6,717,939 children under 10 years but instead they have managed to reach 7,069,865 children under 10 years representing 105.2%.
Minister of Health and Sanitation Honourable Madalitso Baliyi appreciated the support from all stakeholders like District Councils, Health Workers, Chiefs, Parents and Guardians, Volunteers and Media for there efforts before and during the campaign period.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed to the success of just ended polio vaccination campaign for children under 10 years conducted from 16 to 19 June 2026.”
This was the third and last round the campaign following the polio case found in Blantyre this year and in all campaigns the Ministry managed to reach its target making the exercise successful.
