Months ago, Cables revealed that, on the eve of the plane crash, the mobile phone of a former Army Commander reportedly pinged in the area where the aircraft eventually went down.
Furthermore, on the day Chilima’s body was flown to Lilongwe, the same phone allegedly registered activity around the airport.
We can confidently reveal and challenge again that if the ad-hoc committee verify these records with the relevant service providers. They will have another angle of this whole crash saga foiled.
The committee should petition the court for access to a restricted Malawi Defence Force document concerning the Dornier aircraft.
This document has only been accessible to Presidents, Army Generals and few selected senior army officials plus yours truly , The Cables.
If examined, it could reveal information of significant public interest.
As for Nthungwa, the crash site was not chosen by chance. It was planned for the aircraft to go down in that particular location. The restricted Army Document we have written about above states some information about Nthungwa that could be useful.
Mind you , a top secret , confidential and restricted document are not the same . A restricted document as its name restricted should tell you how scaring the contents can be . Access to such documents is a matter of life and death .
Communications and aircraft control signals linking the northern region relay through Nthungwa Tower before being routed through the Ekwendeni tower and onward to other parts of the country. This also happens in reverse depending from where the transmitting signals are originated from.
Nthungwa was not just by mistake . Well planned and executed crash .
Attention should also be directed to Kamuzu International Airport.
CCTV cameras were reportedly operational in the hangar area, yet records from 8–10 June should be examined carefully. It will be established that surveillance footages and equipment were destroyed shortly before those dates. It was not again by mistake .
The corruption case involving Chilima, which was later discontinued, allegedly implicated former President Lazarus Chakwera and senior Malawi Defence Force officials.
If certain documents were made public on the MDF deals that led to the ending of Chilima corruption case ,Malawians would gain a clearer understanding of what transpired.
The case was terminated to shield individuals who may have been implicated and are connected to the death of Chilima .
There is a substantial amount of information that remains hidden from public.
We continue to stand by our earlier position: Chilima was murdered.
Whether it happens today, tomorrow, or years from now, the truth will eventually come to light.
When that day arrives, Malawians will see for themselves whether the dots that Cables connected all along pointed to a larger story.
