The Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) has endorsed Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya as its candidate ahead of next year’s FAM polls.
NRFA has become the third association of Football Association of Malawi to endorse Haiya following Central Region Football Association (CRFA) and Beach Soccer Association who also pledged to support Haiya during the 2027 FAM elections.
Speaking today during the launch of K70 million Chiwemi Investment Northern Region Football League NRFA president Masiya Nyasulu says they are convinced with Haiya’s leadership and their association is ready to give him another four years.
In his remarks FAM president Fleetwood Haiya say that he is not surprised with the endorsements that are being made insisting that he has done a lot towards the development of the sports in the country.
“Our region leagues are continuing to grow under the Transformation Agenda, with more partners coming on board to invest in football development,” says Haiya
He then commended NRFA for the colourful event and appreciated the Chiwemi Investment for choosing to invest in football.
Haiya pledged to the football lovers in the region that he will provide K30 million to the NRFA that will be used as football cup sponsorship.
Last football season Haiya pumped in K25 million for Northern Region Football League which has been now taking by Chiwemi Investment as it official sponsor with a tune of K70 million.
