Police in Mangochi have confirmed the death of a 35 years old man, Cassimu Tchunga Friday who died of electrocution in attempt to remove electrical wire from a house affected by floods at Mapila Village in the district.
Mangochi Police Public Relations Officer Amina Tepani Daudi said the man was found lifeless submerged in floodwater inside a nearby house, close to an electrical wiring box.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that Friday entered the house with intention of removing electrical wiring when he come into contact with live wires resulting in his death,” Daudi said.
Postmortem conducted at Mangochi District Hospital indicated that the death is due to electrocution.
