Former President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera will tomorrow, Sunday, August 23, 2026, attend the Annual General Conference of the CCAP Livingstonia Synod at Kamuzu Academy in Kasungu.
According to the programme made available to Cables, Chakwera is expected to arrive in Kasungu at around 9:00 a.m., where he is expected to join church leaders and congregants at the annual gathering.
Earlier today, Chakwera was in Dedza, where he attended the Annual General Conference of the Last Church of God, marking another public engagement for the former President.
Chakwera’s continued movements and engagements across the country come as he remains active in public and religious gatherings following his departure from office.
His appearances are also taking place amid growing calls from some sections of his supporters for him to consider making a political comeback and contesting the presidency again in 2030.
While Chakwera has continued to engage with Malawians at various public, political and religious functions, attention is increasingly turning to what role he will play in the country’s political landscape in the years leading to the 2030 general elections.
For now, the former President appears to be keeping his connection with the public alive and tomorrow, his journey takes him to Kasungu.
