A few weeks ago, Cables reported that Asif Khan was tortured to death behind the Salvage 2000 offices.

We can now confidently reveal that, according to our investigation, the holding cell where Khan was detained was inside Noor House, a building owned by businessman Karim.

Khan’s death occurred on 6 July 2026, according to police information reported by multiple media outlets.

His body was subsequently buried before suspicions surrounding his death emerged.

Cables reported that Khan was murdered and that efforts weee being made to conceal the murder with natural death .

Police exhumed the body on 19 July 2026, and a postmortem reportedly found that he died from internal bleeding caused by blunt-force trauma, with fractured ribs also recorded.

Police have since arrested Noor Nasir/Noor Ansari in connection with the murder. The case has been committed to the High Court, while some of the suspects have reportedly fled the country.

Cables can further reveal that CCTV cameras installed at Noor House contain crucial evidence relating to Khan’s alleged detention, torture and death.

According to information available to Cables, the CCTV footage is backed up to the cloud, meaning that the recordings may still be available even if the physical surveillance system or local storage is tampered with or removed.

Cables understands that police are aware of the existence of this footage, yet questions remain over why investigators have not taken meaningful steps to secure, preserve and forensically examine the recordings.

We further understand that Malawi Police officers who entered Noor House last week did not secure the CCTV system or the recordings that could potentially assist investigators in establishing what happened to Khan.

Cables has also received information that Karim, the owner of Noor House, has been receiving death threats because of the CCTV footage.

According to our sources, he is reportedly afraid to formally report the threats to police because of concerns about the handling of the murder investigation.

These are serious allegations that Malawi police officers have been compromised in the case, with information indicating that Nkhoma from Area 30 and Maulidi from Limbe Police allegedly pocketed a substantial amount of money.

A new informant named Chrissy from Limbe Police has been recruited, and a money trail has reportedly revealed that she is pocketing MK100,000 daily for leaking information about murder investigations to Sadiq and Mustafa Kader, owners of Sky Electronics, who are implicated in the murder and have reportedly fled the country.

Cables will continue to follow the evidence.
