NBS Bank has announced that it will give K245 million reward to the Malawi Women National Team, the Scorchers for their outstanding performance at this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Chief Executive Officer for NBS Bank, Temwani Simwaka in a statement said the Scorchers have demonstrated courage, resilience and unwavering determination to succeed.
Scorchers are currently in the finals of Wafcon following their 3 -1 victory over Algeria.
This is the first time for the Malawi Women National Team to play at the Wafcon tournament and they have managed to qualify for the 2027 Fifa Women’s World Cup and reaching tournament’s final.
According to NBS Bank each of the 48 member delegation will receive K7 million and will be deposited directly into their bank accounts.
