
President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who is also Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation has called on people of Zambia to maintain peace as the country set to hold general elections tomorrow.
President Mutharika has since asked all eligible voters to exercise their rights by voting peacefully.
In a statement Mutharika said SADC Electoral Observation Mission has already been deployed to observe the election in line with SADC principles of democratic elections.
SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation chairperson has also emphasised on importance of free, credible and transparent election, citing these as most important for a more stable political and economic transition.
