Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has suspended four food processing companies in Mapanga Industrial Area in Blantyre district and fined them K2 million each for non-compliance.

In a Facebook post on its page MBS says the four companies were found not following food safety measures and unhygienic conditions.

According to MBS the four companies are Dilydada Limited, Aimi Industries Limited, 88 Brothers and Tianma Company Limited.

MBS conducted factory surveillance exercise in Mapanga Industrial Area from 27 to 31 July 2026 where they identified the problems.

The statement further said that all the four companies have been suspended from its operations until they rectify and implement corrective actions.

They have also assured public that they will continue conducting similar exercise to ensure that companies are following required standards in their production processes.
