Malawi Vice President Right Honorable Jane Ansah SC has joined the rest of the world in celebrating World Press Freedom Day, with a strong message underscoring the importance of free expression, responsible journalism, and a vibrant media landscape.
In a statement released today, the country’s Vice President joined President Mutharika and reaffirmed that the freedom to seek, receive, and share information remains a cornerstone of democracy and a vital pillar for peace, development, and security.
The message also called on journalists in Malawi to continue upholding professionalism, integrity, and patriotism in the exercise of their duties. It emphasized the role of the media in strengthening accountability, informing citizens, and contributing to national progress.
