The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), under the influence of some cabinet ministers have planned to summon Suleman to appear before a disciplinary committee.

The plan is to expel him from the party before the next sitting of Parliament, so that the House can consider electing a different Speaker.
According to sources close to the matter, ministers Roza Mbilizi, Peter Mukhitho, Justin Saidi and Shadric Namalomba have instructed Minister of Justice Charles Mhango who is the Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee to initiate the process.
The charges include his remarks that there are no Islamic faithfuls in Cabinet when he stated that all ministers are under him with reference to Parliament’s oversight responsibilities.
Suleman has alleged that some Cabinet ministers are corrupt, which led to the formation of joint committees of Parliament to investigate the alleged corruption.
