Malawi Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah SC has dismissed rumors suggesting that she plans to leave the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) or form a new political party.
Speaking after visiting Senior Chief Lukwa’s farm and overseeing the distribution of assorted relief items by the Dr. Jane Ansah Foundation to vulnerable communities at Chidzenje Headquarters in Kasungu on Saturday morning, Ansah described the claims as false and misleading.
“I have no intention of dumping the Democratic Progressive Party or forming a political party, as claimed by some prophet from Zomba,” she said, without naming the individual.
Ansah expressed concern that some prophets are misusing their spiritual platforms to make politically charged statements that could mislead Malawians.
“I am DPP to the core, and even if you pierce my skin, you will see blue blood,” she declared.
She further warned that her silence should not be mistaken for weakness or foolishness, adding: “When the time comes, I will speak out.”
However, she did not elaborate further on the statement.
