Police in Blantyre has confirmed that a couple at Chiwere Village in Machinjiri, Blantyre was found dead in their home early this morning.
According to Ndirande Police Spokesperson Chibisa Mulimbika a 32 years old Wisdom Linje was found hanging from a rope in the bedroom at around 2am while his girlfriend Jane Kanama was discovered in unconscious on the bed.
Mulimbika said the two were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
He said that preliminary investigations found that the couple has been quarreling on how Kanama was using money that Linje had been sending as it is reportedly that he just returned from Dubai three days ago.
Police recovered a bottle containing unidentified substance and pills in the bedroom which have been taken for forensic examination.
The couple has left behind a child and Police say they are going to investigate in order to establish circumstances surrounding the deaths.
