The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) staff members who were in Salima for a two-day meeting at Sigelege Hotel in Salima have asked to go back to Lilongwe following government austerity measures.
The meeting, which brings together prosecutors and investigators, is now set for the Tobacco Commission offices in Kanengo.
Information we have gathered showas that staff members are now traveling from Salima to Kanengo where they will attend the proceedings of their meeting.
We understand that staff members have already recieved subsistence allowances for the Salima trip but it is unclear what will happen next with the change of venue.
We are are yet to get a response from ACB director general Gabrielle Chembezi as they were aware of recent government announcements on how it’s agencies will operate under these austerity Measures in place.
