Ministry of Health and Sanitation has announced that it will conduct second Dose Oral Cholera Vaccination (OVC) campaign in selected areas of Blantyre district and city from tomorrow 3rd August to 7th August 2026.
Writing on its Facebook page Ministry has urged people who received OVC in previous campaign to make sure they receive it again to complete their vaccination requirements and strengthen their protection against Cholera.
According to the ministry the vaccines be provided in health facilities, markets, outreach clinics and there will team of Health workers providing it through door-to-door.
The selected areas to participate in the campaign are Chileka Health Centre, Chilimba Health Centre, Mbayani Health Centre, Zingwangwa Health Centre, Bangwe Health Centre, Ndirande Health Centre, Chilomoni Health Centre, Mitsidi Health Centre and Gateway Clinic.
It also reminded people that despite taking vaccine it is also important to follow hygienic procedures to prevent spread of Cholera in communities.
