Despite danger that many Malawians will face acute hunger this year over 70 metric tonnes of maize have damaged at Liwonde ADMARC in Machinga.
ADMARC Chief Executive Officer Ben Botolo has confirmed with the Media saying the damaged maize will be sold to farmers layering animals in the country as it can not be consumed by people.
Recently government has provided K100 billion to National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA) to buy maize in readiness for hunger.
Reports suggest that many Malawians will face hunger this year and next year as Malawi is expected to face El Niño that usually bring hunger due to droughts.
