Police in Dowa district have arrested 10 people for allegedly malicious damage and unlawful wounding at Chikadza village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwele.
According to Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Sub-Inspector Alice Sitima the incident occurred on 11 September 2026 after tension arose when a 58 years old Nyadilani Chigalu married a second wife from Lichapa Village.
Sitima said Chigalu’s children together with other villagers confronted him at new wife’s house house where two of her relatives were injured.
Sub-Inspector Sitima said later on the Lichapa villagers attacked Chikadza village damaging two houses and properties worth K780, 000.
