
Scorchers captain Tabitha Chawinga and her sister Temwa Chawinga have both been named in the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Best XI following their impressive performances at the just ended tournament.
Tabitha features in a three-player attack alongside Cameroon’s Marie Ngah and Zambia’s Barbra Banda, while Temwa anchors the midfield alongside Cameroon’s Monique Ngock and Algeria’s Marine Dafeur.
Cameroonian goalkeeper features as goal stopper with Nohaila Benzina of Morocco and Myriam Nyadjou of Cameroon as center backs while Innes Belloumou from Algeria and Hanane Aet El Haj of Morocco features as right and left backs respectively.
The best XI of 2026 Wafcon according to the CAF can be headed by Cameroon’s head coach Valentine Nguele.
