The Ministry of Health says it will, in conjunction with the Malawi Council for Disability Affairs (MACODA) and the National Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics (NAPO), conduct an artificial limbs provision camp in Zomba, in November 2026.
The ministry says the camp will run from 9 to 21 November at Zomba Central Hospital, targeting 200 people with disabilities from the Eastern and Southern regions who require artificial limbs.
It says prosthetics and orthotics practitioners will provide fittings during the camp, with the service offered free of charge.
According to the ministry, the artificial limb materials have been donated by the Government of India, with the initiative aimed at improving mobility and the quality of life of people with disabilities.
The ministry has encouraged eligible people from the Eastern and Southern regions to register through MACODA offices in their respective districts.
