Ministry of Health and Sanitation has announced that it will conduct fourth round of National Polio vaccination campaign from 11th August to 14th August 2026 targeting 7, 069 865 children below 10 years.
In a press release signed by Bestone Chisamile, Principal Secretary (Administration) the campaign is part of ongoing response to the polio virus outbreak and it will be administered through door to door by trained health workers, CHAM facilities, government schools and designated outreaches.
The statement further said that the previous campaigns have managed to reach millions of children and they believe that they will reach the targeted children.
Ministry has asked traditional and religious leaders, members of parliament, councillors, teachers, civil society society organisations, communities and Media to support mobilisation efforts and encourage parents and guardians to have their children vaccinated.
