
National Youth Summit preparations are said to be going on well as President Peter Arthur Mutharika is expected to open officially open the Summit on 18th August 2026.
Speaking today at a press briefing Chief Executive Officer for National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCM) Rodah Gadama Misomali says the preparations are going well as this year’s summit will go beyond speech and ignite action from young people.
Misomali said that the summit will also celebrate the achievements young people are making and those people will be awarded at the summit for their excellence and differences they are making in the society.
She then called on different stakeholders to take part in the summit and invest in the young people’s innovations.
This year’s National Youth Summit is expected to run from 18th to 20th August and president Peter Mutharika is expected to open the summit on 18th July at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) in Lilongwe.
The theme for this year’s National Youth Summit is : “Accelerating Progress: Reflecting on Impact, Expanding Prospects for Youth Development in Malawi,”.
