President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has commended Old Mutual Malawi for its strong commitment to investing in key sectors such as road infrastructure and tourism.
Speaking at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre after meeting with an Old Mutual delegation led by Group CEO Tavona Biza, President Mutharika said their discussions centered on policy frameworks and the strategic direction of the partnership.
He emphasized the critical role the private sector plays in national development, describing Old Mutual’s involvement as “commendable.”
The President also reaffirmed his administration’s openness to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), encouraging other investors to explore opportunities in Malawi. He highlighted the conducive business environment his government has created to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
In response, Old Mutual Group CEO Tavona Biza confirmed that the company is ready to commence investments in the tourism and infrastructure sectors, signaling a significant boost for economic growth and job creation.
