A security guard Alick Madilima Milanzi, employed by SESA Security Company who was guarding Prime Insurance’s branch in Balaka has been killed by thugs who stole money and other items.
According to Limbikani Mpambira the Assistant Underwriting Officer at Prime Insurance’s Balaka branch said the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, when the thugs broke the rear door of the office.
Mpambira said it appears that the thugs strangled the guard to death and dumped his body behind the toilet.
“The thugs went away with K1.4 million after destroying the cash chest, they also stole over K400,000, speakers, two amplifiers, MRA machine, a cellphone and cloths from our neighbour, DAPH Massive Clothes Shop,” said Mpambira.
He said body of the security guard Alick Milanzi will be buried tomorrow in Machinga District.
