President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appealed to people in Machinga and Balaka districts to vote for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) parliamentary and local government candidates in the upcoming by-elections scheduled for June 30, 2026.
Mutharika made the remarks at Phalula in Balaka, where he addressed and interacted with members of the public who gathered at the event.
The Malawi Electoral Commission is expected to conduct parliamentary by-elections in Balaka Mulunguzi constituency in Balaka District and Mikoko constituency in Machinga District. In addition, a local government by-election for councillor will take place in Kanjuli Ward in Balaka.
