Former Malawian President Joyce Banda, who is also the founder of the People’s Party, on 29 April 2026 held a strategic meeting with the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) at her new residence in Area 12, Lilongwe.
The meeting focused on reassessing the party’s direction and developing strategies aimed at strengthening and revitalizing the party to ensure it remains vibrant and competitive in the country’s political landscape.

- Hon. Lawrence Bisika, Vice President for the Eastern Region
