Mkanda Police in Mchinji are keeping in custody two men identified as Zindikilani Adson, 34 and Jeleck Smart ,59, for allegedly breaking into Malawi Mkanda Assembliess Of God Church, where they stole two big speakers, a connection cord and an amplifier valued at K2 750 000.
It is alleged that the incident occurred on night of 1st September 2026 and Church authorities reported the matter to Mkanda Police Unit where the police launched an investigation on the case.
Mkanda Police detectives through through intelligence management to arrest the suspects at Malimboni Village where they were spotted spending money suspiciously at a drinking joint.
Later the suspects led the detectives to Sunama Trading Center in Mchinji and Katenje Trading Center where they sold the stolen items and Police managed to recover it.
Two will appear in court soon to answer charges of breaking into a building and committing a Felony contrary to Section 311 of Penal Code.
