
President Hakainde Hichilema of United Party for National Development (UPND) has been declared as the winner of 2026 Zambia’s Presidential Elections with 2, 965, 326 votes from all the 226 constituencies.
The win for Hichilema comes after facing a tough competition from his closest challenger Brian Mundibile of Nation Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) who secured 1, 856, 217 votes.
Hichilema’s victory marks second time he has won the Zambia’s Presidential Elections having won it again in 2021 general elections.
He has however thanked people of Zambia for entrusting him with another mandate to lead the country.
Writing on his Facebook page the President said he was humbled by the confidence placed in him to serve as President of Zambia once again.
Hichilema also assured those people who voted for opposition candidates that his administration has heard their concerns and would continue working to ensure that every Zambian benefit from national development.
