First Lady, Madame Professor Gertrude Mutharika, is this afternoon expected to distribute relief items to 500 beneficiaries, including elderly persons, people with special needs, and child-headed households, at Area 44 in Lilongwe.
The donation is being supported by NBS Bank and the NICO Group of Companies through the Beautify Malawi Trust.
The initiative forms part of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s humanitarian agenda aimed at ensuring that no Malawian dies from hunger, particularly among vulnerable groups.
The relief exercise underscores the government’s commitment, in partnership with the private sector, to improving social welfare and supporting communities facing food insecurity across the country.
