
Malawi Cables can reveal that three suspects connected to the kidnapping, torture and murder of Asif Khan, an Indian national from Kurla, Mumbai, Maharashtra, have left Malawi.
According to information obtained by Malawi Cables, Asif Khan is survived by his wife, Aamina Rafik, and their three children.
Malawi Cables have established that Asif Khan was a trusted operative involved in gold-smuggling activities on behalf of Mustafa and Sadiq Kader.
We can confirm that five individuals were involved in the kidnapping, torture and murder of Asif Khan.
However, only one suspect, Ghulam Mustafa Noor Ansari, a resident of Mudi and an employee of Sky Electronics who allegedly served as a gold logistics manager and handled hawala accounts, is currently in custody.
The other four individuals whom Malawi Cables have established were involved have reportedly left the country:
Second suspect : Mustafa Kader, a resident of Mpingwe and owner of Sky Electronics, is reported to have departed Malawi on 16 July 2026 via Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Malawi Cables it has confirmed his departure through immigration records at Chileka International Airport.
Third suspect : Sadiq Kader, a resident of Mpingwe and co-owner of Sky Electronics, is also reported to have left Malawi on 16 July 2026 via Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Immigration records at Chileka International Airport confirm his departure.
Fourt suspect : Waseem, a resident of Kanjedza, where Asif Khan had been living near IMJ Hospital, reportedly departed Malawi on 14 July 2026 for Jogeshwari East, Mumbai, India, together with his wife and two children, through Chileka International Airport.
