


Minister of Transport and Public Works Jappie Mhango has asked Contractor for Golomoti-Monkey Bay road rehabilitation to deliver quality work in time.
Speaking today at Sangazi 1 Primary School where there was a ground breaking ceremony for the project Mhango called the contractors to ensure that that they delivery quality work in the given period as the project is a major step towards revamping Malawi’s road infrastructure and boosting tourism, Agriculture and Fisheries.
Mhango warned against illegal developments in the road reserves and urged other financial institutions to come in and support government in financing infrastructure projects in the country.
The project will be implemented in two Lot with Unik Construction will rehabilitate 30 kilometres of 58.4 kilometres road project financing from FDH Bank Plc to the tune of K100 billion from Chantulo to Mtakataka turn-off for the period of 24 months as Lot 1 while Mota- Engli will do the remaining part from Chantulo to Golomoti as Lot 2.
FDH Bank chief executive officer William Mpinganjira said the bank realises that the quality road infrastructure is critical to economic growth, hence the support so that Malawi can achieve its 2063 agenda.
