
The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has been commended for recognising and rewarding dedicated professionals through a series of strategic appointments and promotions, reaffirming its commitment to excellence, professionalism, competence, and leadership development.
Effective 1 July 2026, the Authority announced the following appointments:
- Mr Micious Matsitsa – Deputy Director of Technology and Standards
- Ms Ruth Sawerengera – Deputy Director of Finance
- Mrs Wezzie Nkhoma Somba – Digital Content Manager
- Mrs Mary Nkasala – Technologies Manager
- Mr Joseph Kadzokoya – Physical Addressing Database Officer
The appointments reflect the Board and Management’s confidence in the abilities, dedication, and professionalism of employees who have consistently demonstrated exceptional performance and commitment to advancing the Authority’s mandate.
MACRA has also continued to nurture emerging talent within its ranks. In the Broadcasting Department, Mr Nathan Majawa has been promoted to the position of Consumer Affairs Officer, while Mr Joseph Mwanoka, an experienced broadcasting professional and former radio presenter, has joined the Communications Department. His extensive media and public engagement experience is expected to strengthen the Authority’s strategic communication and public outreach initiatives.
The latest appointments underscore MACRA’s continued investment in developing talent, recognising merit, and building a high-performing workforce capable of driving innovation and delivering quality regulatory services.
