The Ministry of Labour, Skills and Innovation has assured Graduate working under government internship that their outstanding stipend arrears of two months for March and April will be cleared by August as delay was due to payroll glitches.
In a statement signed by Secretary for Labour, Skills and Innovation Nwazi Mnthambala some interns did not not receive salaries for March and April as ministry was balancing database of graduate internship program.
Ministry says this was done after noticing that some interns were not reporting for work.
“The process resulted in some interns not receiving stipend arrears for the month of March and April 2026,” read the statement.
Government introduced graduate internship program in 2018 with an aim of equipping graduate with work experience and aquire knowledge and skills for work market.
