Cables have traced former President Lazarus Chakwera to Dubai, not the United States of America as previously stated by his spokesperson—raising questions about the accuracy of the information given to Malawians who are funding his trip .
Chakwera is expected to travel from Dubai to Cyprus in the next few days .
The two destinations are alleged to be linked to offshore accounts where, it is claimed, large sums of money acquired during his time in office were kept.
