After five years as State President without meeting the long serving and real MCP members .
Sense is pumping in Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera’s head as he is now engaging with some of the grassroots Malawi Congress Party (MCP) members who have remained loyal to the party for decades.
Today, Chakwera met with Hon. Nkhosa Kamwendo, one of the longest-serving members of the MCP, at the party’s headquarters in Lilongwe.
The meeting is part of the party’s ongoing strengthening and consolidation efforts aimed at promoting unity, enhancing member engagement, and preparing the party for future political activities.
The engagement reflects a renewed focus on reconnecting with veteran party members and grassroots structures that have long been the backbone of the MCP.
MCP has started to strategize for 2030 elections barely a year after being kicked out of power by Malawians who gave President Peter Mutharika 56% election victory.
