The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has officially cancelled its tender for the provision of security services, originally advertised in November 2025 and referenced as MRA/Security Services/12/11/2025.
In a letter dated 31st December 2025 and signed by Commissioner General Felix Tambulasi, MRA notified bidders—including Masters Security Services—that the procurement process has been scrapped due to a resolution by its Internal Procurement and Disposal of Assets Committee (IPDC).
The authority states it will recommence the process and re-advertise the tender in due course.
The decision follows intense public scrutiny and pressure after MRA’s December 26 intention to award contracts worth over K5.4 billion, with a significant portion earmarked for Masters Security Services, owned by DPP-linked Minister of State Alfred Gangata.
Critics, including HRDC, had raised concerns over potential conflicts of interest and ethical issues.
MRA regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates continued interest from bidders.
