A political and good governance expert, Wonderful Mkhutche, has said that the country’s leader, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has performed well in the first 90 days of his leadership.
The country had fallen into a deep crisis marked by shortages of fuel, foreign currency, hunger, a disorganized economy, and heavy national debt.
However, Mkhutche says that during the period Mutharika has been leading Malawi, people have started to see changes in some of these areas.
Malawians had been queuing for fuel and sugar, and were struggling with the production of maize and tobacco, which are the two main crops the country depends on.
During the previous administration, these problems were worsened by frequent foreign trips made by the former president, Lazarus Chakwera, which are among the activities that heavily drain government resources.
