Vice President Jane Ansah has hailed the important role the Church plays in promoting national development, saying faith institutions help shape responsible citizens who contribute solutions to the country’s challenges.
Ansah made the remarks at Soche CCAP Church in Blantyre during celebrations marking 30 years of partnership between the church and Shadyside Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh in the United States.
She said President Peter Mutharika appreciates the support his government continues to receive from various stakeholders, including the Church, which remains instrumental in moral guidance and community development.
The partnership between Soche CCAP and Shadyside Presbyterian Church dates back to May 1996 and has led to several infrastructural developments. These include the construction of the church building, a minister’s house, a hall, and a children’s centre that provides Early Childhood Development (ECD) services.
CCAP Blantyre Synod Vice General Secretary Jimmy Banda thanked Shadyside Presbyterian Church for its long-standing support and encouraged members of Soche CCAP to safeguard the relationship for future generations.
