Che Saidi , the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet . Stop fooling yourself. Malawians know the truth. We know the truth .The Malawi Presidency is not united .
Your press statement is doing more damage to the credibility of the Presidency than any allegations being circulated by opposition groups.
For the record, your statement appears to contradict events that many within government circles are already aware of.
It was you, Chief Secretary Justin Adack Saidi, who reportedly approached the Vice President and urged her to resign. You were with Chaponda, Francis Mphepo and Namphambo. Cables reported it .
When she asked you to put that request in writing, neither you nor your delegation did so.
We stand by that publication, it’s here : https://malawicables.com/chief-secretary-justin-saidi-three-others-pushing-for-resignation-of-vp-ansah/
Yet today, you want Malawians to believe that there are no divisions within the Presidency.
If there is confusion, mistrust, and speculation surrounding the Presidency, then Malawians have every right to ask: who created this situation?
Many would point directly to you, Che Saidi.
There are also reports that you recently attempted to delegate certain presidential functions to the Second Vice President, while bypassing the Vice President, who is constitutionally senior.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Second Vice President Enock Chihana questioned this arrangement and reportedly asked a straightforward question:
“If the Vice President can perform these functions, why not delegate them to her first? And if she cannot, what are the reasons?”
The concern was simple and understandable. Delegating responsibilities to the Second Vice President while excluding the Vice President inevitably raises questions and fuels speculation about tensions within the Presidency.
You were reportedly warned that such actions could create the perception that there was conflict within the Presidency and unfairly place other officials at the centre of that controversy.
And yet today, you want Malawians to believe that everything is normal and that the Presidency is fully united.
The reality is that unity cannot be manufactured through press releases.
If the Presidency is genuinely united, Malawians should be able to see that unity reflected in actions, conduct, and decision-making.
There should be no need for lengthy statements attempting to convince the public that all is well.
In fact, the more aggressively one tries to project an image of unity, the more people begin to question why such assurances are necessary in the first place.
A united Presidency demonstrates its cohesion through transparency, consistency, and mutual respect among its leaders not through carefully crafted statements aimed at dismissing legitimate concerns.
Credibility is built through actions, not public relations exercises.
Malawians are not fools. They can distinguish between reality and political messaging.
What they want are honest answers, consistent leadership, and a Presidency whose actions match its words.
Malawians want a united Presidency that works together to deliver its campaign promises and reduce the level of suffering they are subjected to now .
Until that happens, no press statement will be enough to silence the questions that continue to be asked. Is the Presidency United ? Hell no , Che Saidi.
