Cables has learned with deep shock of the passing of Commissioner Tiyese Chiumbudzo, a respected forensic expert, part-time lecturer at UNIMA, and senior police commissioner.
Tragically, Commissioner Chiumbudzo passed away just a day before he was scheduled to commence a critical operation aimed at exposing Zikwanje police officers and MCP youths who previously terrorized parts of Malawi.
Cables can confidently reveal that Commissioner Chiumbudzo was set to meet the Zomba Police College Commandant, Jessie Nyirongo, who served as Director of CID during the Chakwera era and at the height of the Zikwanje police and MCP youth activities. He was also expected to meet former Interpol head Hannania Mbingwa, who is currently a teacher at Zomba Secondary School.
According to information available, Commissioner Chiumbudzo began experiencing breathing difficulties around 2:00 a.m. today. He was rushed to Area 14 Hospital, where he remained until approximately 10:00 a.m., before being referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital around 2:00 p.m. Sadly, he later passed away.
His sudden death has come as a profound shock to many.
This is not a death to be taken lightly.
