Police in Dowa have arrested a 25 year old man in connection with theft from a motor vehicle and recovered stolen property worth K1.42 million.
According to Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Sub-Inspector Alice Sitima on October 21, 2026, at Liabunya Village thieves broke into a Toyota Dyna belonging to teacher Audifansio Chakale while he was attending a funeral.
Sitima said the thieves stole items such as laptop, a tablet and important documents from the vehicle.
She said Police detectives managed to arrest on suspect identified as Junior Chithope, of Zingani Village, Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa who was hiding at Mtunthama in Kasungu District.
