Silver Strikers Ladies have finished fourth at their debut Caf Women’s Champions League/Cosafa Qualifier after suffering a 4-0 defeat to Gaborone United Ladies in the third-place playoff in Botswana.
Jessica Modise and Jessica Maponga both scored braces for the Red Roses.
Despite the defeat, the Central Bankers enjoyed a memorable campaign, making history as the first Malawian women’s team to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Silver Strikers Ladies won two games in the group stage losing one against Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies by 3 goals to 0.
They also lost in semifinal stage by 2 goals to 1 against Zambian team Zesco Ndola Girls.
