Hours after Human Rights Defendant Coalition (HRDC) expressed concern over the delay on Silvester Namiwa bail application ruling, Mzuzu Youth Caucus has also expressed concern over the delay by High Court in delivering its ruling on Namiwa’s bail application.
The group says the delay is unfair especially because the State did not oppose the bail application.
Mzuzu Youth Caucus said that keeping Namiwa in custody without a ruling undermines his constitutional rights and public confidence in judiciary.
They have urged the Judicial Service Commission to intervene and ensure that Namiwa bail ruling is delivered without further delays which can result into peaceful national wide demonstration.
