Minister of Education, Bright Msaka SC, who also serves as the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Eastern Region, has congratulated the newly ordained priests of the Anglican Upper Shire Diocese, urging them to remain steadfast in their faith and serve God with dedication and humility.

Speaking as Guest of Honour during the ordination ceremony, Hon. Msaka encouraged the priests to embrace the challenges of ministry with courage, reminding them that the work of God is not without trials. He urged them to trust in the Lord, expressing confidence that God would faithfully complete the good work He has begun in their lives.

On behalf of the State President, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, Hon. Msaka expressed gratitude to the Anglican Church for its enduring contribution to Malawi’s social and economic development. He described the Church as one of government’s key development partners, citing its significant investments in education and healthcare, including Malosa Secondary School, Matindi Girls’ Secondary School and St. Luke’s Hospital.

The Minister also assured the Right Reverend Bishop that the government would give due consideration to the Church’s appeal for the construction of the Makanjira Road, acknowledging its importance to the people of the area.

Highlighting government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Malawians, particularly the youth, Hon. Msaka said the administration of President Arthur Peter Mutharika has prioritised job creation and community development through targeted investments. He noted that government has allocated MWK100 million for youth loans in every constituency to promote entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
