Cables can exclusively reveal that the office of President Arthur Peter Mutharika, along with key elements of the DPP government’s intelligence system, may have been compromised as the head of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), Brigadier Blaise Sayenda, has been captured by his Executive Assistant, Eliza Chikapa who is now Offical Hostess .
According to our cables, Eliza Chikapa comes from a family with significant ties to opposition Malawi Congress Party , public institutions and political circles.
Her father, Yacinto Chikapa, a retired army officer, currently serves as Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Malawi Electoral Commission, he was put at the Commission by MCP regime in an event they wanted to rig the 2025 elections.
Her mother, Irene Chikapa, previously worked as Secretary for the Judicial Service Commission where her office had a break in and her laptop which contained sensitive corruption-related evidence about judges and lawyers was stolen in 2024 . This case has not been solved to-date .
As that is not enough , Eliza Chikapa’ mother, Irene Chikapa has also been associated, in these allegations, with the controversial acquisition of the Amaryllis Hotel using public funds, reportedly in her capacity as a pension fund trustee.
Further claims suggest that both Yacinto and Irene Chikapa are connected to the strategy committee of the opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
As a result, it is alleged that sensitive intelligence information may be indirectly reaching opposition leadership, including MCP President Lazarus Chakwera, before it is delivered to President Mutharika.
These allegations raise concerns that intelligence reports reaching the President may be filtered or incomplete, potentially posing risks to national security and the functioning of the presidency.
It is also claimed that Eliza Chikapa as the Executive Assistant to the head of intelligence plays a central role in determining access to President Mutharika by deciding who should be vetted and granted access to the President , further intensifying concerns among some officials about security vulnerabilities for the President.
Cables indicate that attempts were made to alert the NIS leadership to the potential risks associated with this situation, but no corrective action has reportedly been taken.
In the absence of decisive actions and measures . The presidency of Mutharika is at great risk and so is his entire DPP government machinery .
Cables are monitoring the situation and will keep the nation informed to keep the President safe .
