His Excellency, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has strongly affirmed the unwavering support of Mulanje District for him and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). Addressing a charged crowd, Prof. Mutharika declared that Mulanje cannot and will not betray the DPP, underscoring the district’s steadfast allegiance since the party’s inception.
He dismissed any attempts to manipulate or divide Mulanje’s political loyalty, emphasizing that such efforts would prove futile. In a powerful moment, Mutharika asked the crowd, “Alipo amene angakusintheni kuno?” (Is there anyone who can change your loyalty here?), to which the crowd resoundingly replied, “No!”
The enthusiastic response highlighted Mulanje’s enduring commitment to Prof. Mutharika and the DPP, solidifying the district’s position as a loyal stronghold.
